Nigerian Music - Nigerian Music Hype – Chidi Joe

Chidi Joseph Edeh (chidi joe) was born on 24th August 1980 in lagos, Nigeria but grew up in Enugu, Nigeria. He grew up as a footballer, singer and song writer who performed in churches as a solo artist and with his group (praise people).

He’s been known for his prolific goal scoring ability as a young player and dazzling skills before he travelled to Qatar where he played with Al-ahly sports club. In september 2008 he sustained a ligament injury which kept him sidelined for months. During those period of injury he started to work as a teacher and also had time to bring together his songs which most of it has been written and composed years back including ‘lead you till the end’, ‘time will come’, ‘we have come’, and a host of others which were not included in the debut album “count on me”set to be out before this summer 2010 and on itunes, amazon, rhapsody, etc.

He is currently working with a multicultural group of singers from different countries for his latest song ‘you’re my everything’.

He studied computer science and mathematics Education in IMT Enugu, Nigeria. information technology and management in Meriitus University Vancouver Canada.

His first independent CD, ‘count on me’, was released in Qatar November 2009 on unsigned label and was loved by both Christians and Muslims because of the vocals and the pop/RnB beat backup. He is currently waiting for a record deal and is getting confused on which label to sign because of the number of local and international record labels knocking at the door.

He promised God that the aim for his first CD is not for money but for circulation to reach out to the young and old, teenagers and adults of this generation. The debut album’count on me’ comprises of personal true life story and was written, arranged and composed by him.

In 2009 December when he came home for vacation, he was shot at the back and on the head by some boys, but God rescued him and no vital organ was tampered. Now he is strong, energetic and ready to shake the world. He’s been loved by many people especially the youths.

He dislikes competition but loves to use all that God has endowed him with to affect nations and tribes.

He will be going on tour to Turkey, Belgium,and Dubai in May through June 2010.
