Nigerian Bank Nigeria Unity Bank Plc – Unity Bank Supports Lagos With N600 Million

Abuja — Unity Bank Plc has donated N600 million to support the Lagos State Waste Management Authority (LAWMA) to make the state cleaner. The Group Managing Director of the bank Malam Falalu Bello said this at the Lagos International Trade Fair.
He was represented by the bank’s Lagos Island Regional Manager Mrs. Omosede Olufe.
He said: “Unity Bank Plc has approved over N600 million to LAWMA franchise (PSP) and have leased dump-lifting trucks to the Association for a better and cleaner Lagos.”
He said Unity Bank has partnered with a host of other institutions (public & private) to actualise the proposed Mega City project of the Lagos State government.
“In the Year under review, Unity Bank approved N250 million to the National Association of Road Transport Owners (NARTO) to finance the purchase of brand new trucks as a contribution to the improvement of transport system in Lagos State”, he said.
He said the bank is also a leading Member of the Marina Express Consortium bidding for Agbado-Marina Rail Line, the Red Line.
“These efforts are to complement the giant strides the Lagos State Government is making at modernising the transportation infrastructure in Lagos”, he said.
He said: “It is also worthy to note our partnership with the Lagos State Board of Internal Revenue Authority in the area of Internally Generated Revenue as a Collecting Bank, a relationship that has been mutually beneficial.
“In order to enhance the living condition of Lagosians, Unity Bank is also involved in Housing Projects in conjunction with reputable developers like Grant Properties Ltd in the Lekki Corridor. Moreover, we part financed the construction of Awolowo Ultra Modern Market in Mushin to boast the State’s commercial activities.
“We would also like to inform you all that as part of our effort to take our services nearer to the people, additional 15 Branches of Unity Bank have been proposed for the State. Presently we have over 30 branches in Lagos State”.
