THE Coalition of Residence and Business Association of Nigeria,(CRBAN) has urged all Nigerians to put a stop to the payment of electricity bills as it is a fraudulent act on the part of the nations utility company Power Holding Company of Nigeria (PHCN) to send out bills for services not rendered.

The group also chided the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), for what he termed a conspiracy of silence over the horrible power situation in the country. Speaking exclusively to Vanguard recently the National Chairman of the Association Comrade Abayomi Dawodu stated that If the NLC had done only a quarter of what it did over fuel price hikes the power situation could have been revamped.

“What is the difference between NLC and bank dogs that are latched to poles, barking and dropping saliva for nothing, yet CEO’s do magic with billions of naira, further weakening the economy and debasing the value of  Nigeria”. He said.

According to him, “The very essence of labour is  power and energy. Therefore, the NLC should have guided and guarded religiously, but NLC have found convenience in the field negotiation of fuel hike to contest elections. He further summoned the NLC to support the CRBAN in a drive that Nigerians should not accept bills or pay PHCN bills. As if that wasn’t enough, he also sought for their consent in collaboration with the CRB to organize seminars and symposiums on the solutions to Nigeria’s power outage which seems to defy all electrical engineering Logic. If Ghana and Gambia can do it, why can’t we do it? he queried.

H e further stressed that this move is pertinent because silence of the NLC is tantamount to aiding and abetting PHCN’s 419 and theft  from Nigerian masses. “The NLC and PHCN are specialized  purpose vehicles designed by greed and powered by  unpatriotic intent to bring Nigerians down on her knees, knowing fully well that this is a mismanagement of the economy and it will have ripples effect on others.

Does the NLC make it a point of duty and concern to monitor the budget of the federal states and local government. Does the labour congress concern themselves with the extravagant life style of those in authority, private or public, does NLC care, do they make it a point of duty to monitor motions and allied bills that will definitely plug stealing and make public and private officials in an acceptable standard.?”, he asks again.

He however advices the general public not to worry, stating that bills would not be compiled, what ever had been in the past will last till 2020. “You and I have been paying for darkness. Therefore, don’t collect and don’t pay PHCN bills. He emphatically stressed
