Being involved in music from an early age, the Ogoja born fashion designer participated in several cultural performances in his Cross River State home town. Releasing his debut album, The Captain, in 1991, he did not make the limelight, however, popular radio jingles and commercials for banks (primarily First Bank), finance houses, oil companies and the late MKO as well, brought sunny days for Neji whose second album, Mr Fantastik in 1997 was a smash hit.
