African music over the years has grown to a standard recognised internationally, a standard which is now appreciated and embraced by locals and foreigners alike and presents itself as an excellent medium to bring people of different race or culture together.
R2bees are back at what they know how to do best… listen to their latest hit tracks….
The word R2Bees (R2Bees) comes from the group’s mantra which is ‘Refuse to be broke .R2bees is a group of talented young artists namely Sean Awuku Maxbond , stage name “PAEDAE” the leader of the group, Mugeez Rashid the lead vocalist with stage name “mugeez” and Godfred kojo Aduamah with stage name “Under”. R2Bees has entered the music industry with a unique sound. Founding members, Paedae and Mugeez are cousins who have lived together since infancy initially they formed a group called Camp Yard ,they competed and won various talents shows around Accra and Tema. The name was later changed to r2bees
We call our kind of music URBAN MUSIC due to it being a composition of reggae, hip hop, pop, afro and highlife. In August 2008 we released our first single YAWA GAL which topped charts in the hip-hop underground in Ghana a month later we released our number one chart topping single I DEY MAD which topped the Ghanaian top ten music chart for eight continues weeks it was also nominated for the afro pop song of the year and the group was also nominated for new artist of the year and hip hop artist of the year in the just ended Ghana music awards.
Each and every one of us is unique in our own way, as in individual talent that we put together is what creates that perfect sound that would musically represent the AFRICAN continent worldwide. OUR crew has already started making waves and if we keep this up, the sky is OUR LIMIT . We have our independent record label called r2bees entertainment in which we have other talented young artist also signed on . CURRENTLY WE ARE PREPARING TO RELEASE OUR FIRST MAJOR ALBUM. IT IS AN 18 TRACK ALBUM TITLED DA REVOLUTION . WHICH HAS INSPIRING SONGS LIKE “AFRICA “ “AND CRY NO MORE” AND OUR HIT TRACK “I DEY MAD”.
