Guaranty Trust Bank has agreed to bankroll the Lagos Principal’s Cup for the next three years. This was revealed to P.M.Sports at the end of a meeting between the Lagos State Government and officials of the bank early this week. Lagos State government officials, led by the Deputy Governor, Princess Sarah Sosan, met with representatives of GTBank where the proposal for sponsorship was discussed and agreed upon.
GTBank’s Head of Communication and External Affairs, Lola Odedina, who represented the bank’s Managing Director, Tayo Aderinokun at the event, said the bank took the decision to sponsor the tournament for three years because the bank believes in the Lagos State government’s youth and sports development policies. She added that the bank hopes, through its sponsorship, to redeem the image of the Principal’s Cup and steer it back to its place of pride among sporting events in Nigeria. Princess Sosan, who represented Governor Babatunde Raji Fashola, commended the bank’s consistent efforts over the years towards the development of the educational sector and social development.
