Cell Trust and its African subsidiary have signed a deal to supply Nigerian banks with a way to provide secure messaging. The Scottsdale company, which developed a secure messaging system for mobile banking and payment services, will supply the product to Nigerian banks required to meet new standards.

The products will be rolled out within the next 30 days. Financial information on the deal was not released. The company expects about 100,000 people to sign up for the service within the first six months of operation. CellTrust has been developing secure messaging services that encrypt data to be sent via wireless and mobile devices.
