Doggay A.K.A Double G, real names Douglas Oyaide grew up listening to 2pac,Notorious B.I.G and other similar cats at the time. Down here he listened to 2face and was particularly taken by the Trybesmen. It wasn’t until 2003 when he teamed up with a pal by the name of G.Neves whointroduced him to a set of Benin city based twin producers by the name of Sugarking and JimiTones, that they actually set out to put out the type of music they always had in their hearts.
The output was a 12 track album entitled “Against Their Mama”. The album did quite welllocally, with songs as “These Days” (a song displaying sure fire lyrical dexterity) , “Fire”(another lyrically bent track), and “Big Man Daughter” (a song about the pitfalls of chasing abig man’s daughter) making the benin city airwaves. The album didn’t really go that far because he couldn’t really get the radio stations to play it enough. So he went back to the studio, and armed with a set of blazing new beats from the twins, he recorded “U nor dey shame” (a hilarious odeto girls that act up), and “Move it”, (a reggae themed dance hall track) He is currently working on a new yet-untitled follow up album, where he hopes to debut his singing skills.
